Editor, journalist, content strategist
Jane Nicholls is an, editor, journalist and content strategist. She spent many years working for mainstream consumer magazines, including as deputy editor of Good Weekend, editor of Who magazine and editor-at-large of People magazine in the United States. After working in New York for four years, Jane returned to Australia in 2012 as CEO of The Global Mail, a philanthropically funded multimedia journalism startup, which won several awards in its two years of operation. Since 2014, she has been a very happy freelancer. Her work includes writing and editing for GEreports.com.au, teaching the copywriting for content marketing course she co-created for ADMA with Natalie Filatoff, tutoring first-year journalism students at UTS, ghostwriting books, writing business features for Qantas magazine and travel stories for The Australian, and consulting on and creating high-quality content for a variety of mastheads and brands.
While living in the US, Jane was a board member of Girls Learn International, dedicated to inspiring and empowering student advocates for education equality around the world. She is a director of the Eye Surgeons’ Foundation, which raises money to fund eye-health research and initiatives around Australia and the Asia Pacific. Jane is the proud mum of two teenage daughters, Grace and Rosie, and lives in Sydney.
